On November 12, as part of the E.F.G. London Jazz Festival, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the sounds of Africa with the African ManiFest.
Presented as a dance and singing workshop, it is an excellent opportunity to see live performances or DJ sessions that celebrate music de Africa Western.
The opening performance of African Manifest will be performed by a group of music creators, led by the percussion organization OneDrum, a collaborative set of professional performers, artists, and teachers from diverse backgrounds, committed to creating inclusive and engaging work that uses cultural expression as a catalyst to change perceptions.
After a process of massive participatory rehearsals, other artists will come on stage, and we will show you three that you can't let go.
Born N Bread
Born N Bread is a creative collective from the southeast of London known as great cultural influencers, but more importantly, they are a group of lifelong friends.
They have used their own unique style to create an authentic and refreshing series of print zines, as well as hosting an NTS radio show, reaching out internationally, and appearing as panelists and curating events.
With them, expect to hear non-stop laughter mixed with everything from R'n'B, hip hop and trap to grime, dancehall and Afrobeat.
Fail Nioke
Fail Nioke is a singer and percussionist Guinea Conakry, West Africa.
Since he came to United Kingdom a few years ago, after a period of traveling West Africa, Singing with a group of musicians and learning different cultural rhythms, the 35-year-old has been making music with various producers, including Ghost Culture, Mister Was, Congo Natty and Johan Hugo.
He is now working on his debut album, which will be released later this year.
“When you go into exile you go with a mission. Music is my mission." says the artist who sings in French, English, Susu, Fulani, Malinke and Coniagui, and plays a variety of African cultural instruments to accompany his voice (gongoma, bolon, cassi)
Agla Sackey & Afrik Bawantu
Welcome to afrik bawantu, the band that produces dance-inducing, rhythm-driven fusion music, led by U.S.-born percussion master Ghana, Afla Sackey.
With its varied members, the band combines vibrant African percussion with a funky horn section, spreading its energy afro funk everyone in the audience
afrik bawantu released his EP 'noko-hewon' in February 2013 to critical acclaim, and has since been nominated on the World Music Network.
Finally, in 2014, her long-awaited debut album 'Life On The Streett' rocked the new music scene with the unique and original style of compositions by afla sackey, as well as talented musicians.
The band is currently preparing their next album.
