La Spanish writer Luz Gabás, is the winner of the Planeta Prize 2022, for his work away from louisiana.

La best sellers was endowed with one million euros for this historical novel, which deals with a love story between an Indian and a French subject at the end of the XNUMXth century during colonization.

The work was presented under the title Río Arriba and under the pseudonym Hoja de Fresno, qualified by the jury made up of José Manuel Blecua, Fernando Delgado, Juan Eslava Galán, Pere Gimferrer, Carmen Posadas, Rosa Regàs and Belén López.

But this is not the first time that Gabás addresses the issue of the colony, his first novel Palm trees in the snow, published in 2012, earned her best sellers.

The story deals with the arrival of some emigrants to the Spanish colony of Fernando Poo in what is now Equatorial Guinea and how one of them lives a romance, there is even a film adaptation made by the filmmaker Fernando González Molina, with which won two Goya awards.

Back to your skin, arrived two years later (2014), set in the Huesca Pyrenees of the XNUMXth century, which evokes the harsh repression against witchcraft.

Like fire on ice (2017), exposes a love story set in years of Carlist wars and revolutions in the XNUMXth century, while The heartbeat of the earth (2019) shows a police plot mixed with romance.

Philologist and writer, born in 1968 in Monzón, she was also mayor of the municipality of Benasque, in the Pyrenees of Huesca.
