Along Al Jaddaf in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, architecture firm URB will build the world's largest zero-carbon urban technology district.
The new complex will establish Dubai as an urban hub for innovation, in addition to seeking to become the home of top-level entrepreneurs. This place will have a biophilic interior design that will promote the well-being of people, something simply amazing.
With a area of 140 thousand square meters, will become the largest urban technology district in the world.
It will have facilities for conferences, training, conducting research and seminars. Furthermore, as a zero carbon center, it will offset all of its emissions from its construction and day-to-day operation.
Due to this, the URB design team already plans how to integrate efforts of sustainability including on-site urban architecture, solar farms, light sensors and technology, among others.
It is worth noting that this district will house the Urban Tech Institute, which will offer opportunities to experience innovations based on applied research, while promoting public-private partnerships to accelerate global transitions towards lasting changes.
URB CEO Baharash Bagherian explained that the Urban Tech District will be at the center of all cities of the future.
The global market for urban technology is estimated at $158 billion and is expected to grow exponentially in the next decade.
It is important to be clear that the so-called urban technology is a term to describe any innovation that addresses the challenges of life in metropolis.
Its importance lies in the fact that more equitable living conditions can be created by integrating technology into city planning. Therefore, new advances in urban technology can have a great influence on how cities can provide a more livable and resilient environment for their inhabitants.
Technology-enabled urban developments, like the one to be built in Dubai, seek to provide solutions to the challenges created by urbanization in various areas, which means hope for a better future.
