URB, consolidated developer based in Dubai, announced that it will build in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the smart city of Alnama, which will be fully connected and self-sustaining.
The city will have a total of 11 thousand residential units, which will house approximately 44 thousand people.
This project is expected to create approximately 10 jobs in various sectors, including services in green technology industries, which would greatly help boost the green circular economy.
Alnama, which means to prosper in Arabic, will operate with 100% renewable energy and will have recycling units for water and waste.
This smart city will also have residential, educational, commercial, tourist and medical centers.
To promote medical tourism, URB planned to build a special area in which people with autism will be able to move without any problem, as well as a wellness center and several medical clinics with very different specialties.
To promote a healthy lifestyle among residents, the future city intelligent will also have multiple tracks for running, riding bike or if you want to ride a horse.
Alnama aspires to belong to the next generation of self-sufficient cities, producing all the renewable energy needs of the city, as well as necessary food for its residents.
Biosaline agriculture (a term that describes the production of crops under a wide range of salinity levels in irrigation water), productive gardens, wadis and carbon-rich habitats are key features in the design of the innovative and resilient landscape of the developing.
Surprisingly, Alnama's smart city was planned through the design of its landscape, rather than its buildings, creating an urbanism that is more socially inclusive, more economically valuable, and more sensitive to the environment.
