Metamorphosis Yoga Shala is the amazing is project that the firm Yanniotis & Associates carried out to enter an international architecture competition and that we hope soon, but really very soon, can materialize so fascinating what results
The site seeks to be part of a retirement complex of yoga located in an impressive forest region of central Portugal.
The Metamorphosis Yoga Shala building is inspired by the yoga philosophy of being a practice spiritual more than a physical exercise.
The place, which will have a spacious and super-lit atrium, will emulate the shape of a cave in order to house a tea room where you can also meditate.

Both spaces will be framed by a beautiful garden whose curvilinear stone paths will have orchards to which guests will have access.
Something that is extremely interesting this place is that it is totally inspired by the nature of butterflies.
The metamorphosis of the clumsy and mundane caterpillar that is transformed through an extraordinary biological process into an elegant butterfly, is the central idea behind the form and construction of this building.
The practice of yoga is a personal journey towards enlightenment. Therefore, practicing yoga means connecting and that journey is only possible through the conceptualization and understanding that everything in this world is interconnected.
It should be noted that the design of the garden, which seeks to be the focal point of Metamorphosis Yoga Shala, is based on the sustainable practice of xeriscaping, which is nothing more than a green area cultivated with plants of high ornamental value and low water consumption.
Therefore, the basic elements that make up this five-story garden are: rocks and local plants such as lavender, parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme, agave, cacti and purple echinacea.
To highlight the paths and their circulation, colorful flowers will be used, in addition to providing that touch of tranquility and harmony that all their guests seek to achieve.
