ATHEIST was born more than ten years ago as a multidisciplinary space for artistic, architectural and sound experimentation of the collective we aremexas.
This collective is established in a building on Calle de Topacio 25 (a few blocks from the Pino Suárez metro) that previously housed a mask factory. With the outbreak of influenza in 2010, the factory grew and moved elsewhere, leaving space free for ATEA.
Its name is an acronym that is made up of the initials of the pillars that form the heart of this space: Art-Workshop-Studio-Architecture. Although the space has been transformed over the years, its essence remains.
For ATEA it is important to carry out activities in La Merced and to be a meeting point and generation of art outside the usual circuits of the City.

An important piece of ATEA are the murals and the interventions of different techniques that are part of the configuration of the space and that invite you to inhabit it. They are in and out of ATEA; they extend to the open parking lot with which they share an entrance, and even reach some walls of the La Merced neighborhood.
We can find pieces by urban artists and graffiti artists such as Paola Delfín, Vlocke, Dusk, Meme, Stan, María Conejo y Martin Ferreyra, between many more.

Several spaces currently coexist within ATHEIST: print day, dedicated to screen printing and printing: the production space and ceramic workshop of Melissa Grassie; the macrame studio Daniela Chinas; a fashion design workshop run by Ilse; the photographic studio of Nat and an architecture studio.

At ATEA several events, workshops, exhibitions and activities take place throughout the year. The best known is his Local market; a conscious and responsible consumption initiative that brings together local artists and producers every year-end.
If you want to know the space you can take advantage of its Open Studio from March 24 to 26. If you can't go on these dates for some reason, all you have to do is go to Topacio 25 and go up to the first floor, you almost always find at least one of the projects that make up ATEA there.
