To provide a totally different gastronomic experience to diners, the firm bigER club design created a large dining room that emulates the shape cuisine of the street stalls at the Biiard Yakitori restaurant, located in Shenzhen, China.
The design carried out by this office in the restaurant not only focuses on the spatial arrangement, but also on the essence of a traditional Yakitori dining room.
The interior of Biiird Yakitori is inspired by the relaxed and urban atmosphere of the traditional yakitori stalls that are installed in the streets of Japan and in the newest and most sophisticated restaurants.
What the bigER club design office sought with its disruptive design was to stimulate the same senses that literally awaken when one drinks and eats in front of a crackling coal fire, but in a more modern.
The place has dim and beautiful lighting that provides an extremely warm environment for visitors to enjoy the gastronomic experience.
In this project, it stands out that the design made by the firm bigER club design experiments with the way in which Yakitori, as a way of eating, can be used to define the spatial and interior design of the restaurant, as well as a particular gastronomic culture.
The restaurant is located on the first floor of a commercial building that features a glass facade, giving a constant sense of permeability to the space.
It should be noted that the biggest challenge that bigER club design faced was the row of ornamental columns that had both the facade and the interior, one of which ran completely through the restaurant and not only divided the space, but also dramatically affected the functional flow of the place.
The firm decided to solve this by dividing the place into three large spaces: the kitchen, the dining room in the form of a huge bar circular and the small private spaces where traditional tables were placed.
Therefore, by dividing the central functional spaces, Biiird Yakitori has areas that are independent of each other but partially connected, creating a much more interesting and fashionable organized space.
