The design documentary series that Netflix lets you watch for free

For lovers of design, Netflix released its documentary series Abstract: The Art of Design, which will allow the viewer to enter the minds of the most avant-garde designers.

In the documentary you can discover the influence of design in every detail of life at the hands of the most influential contemporary artists.

During the first season, photographer Platon, architect Bjarke Ingels, set designer Es Devlin, shoe designer Tinker Hatfield share their secrets and inspirations that have led them to innovate and stand out in their specialties.

Illustrator Christoph Niemann, automotive designer Ralph Gilles, graphic designer Paula Scher and interior designer Ilse Crawford complete the list of artists you can meet in this first season.

Due to the health emergency in the world due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Netflix has made this first season available and freely available on its YouTube channel, an initiative that seeks to bring art closer to society.

"For many years, Netflix has allowed teachers to screen documentaries in their classrooms," the streaming platform reported in a press release. "However, this is not possible with closed schools. So, at their request, we have made a selection of our documentary features and series available on our YouTube channel."

"We hope that this, to a small extent, will help teachers around the world," he added.
