In the midst of the pandemic, 68th edition San Sebastian International Festival starts from today September 18 and until the 26 of the same month.
Johnny Depp, Matt Dillon, Gina Gershon and Viggo Mortensen are some of the stars who will parade through the red carpet without an audience that will be organized with all security measures.
The festival kicks off with the latest film by Woody Allen Rifkin's Festival, starring Christoph Waltz and Gina Gershon and filmed a year ago in New York.
Another attraction of the festival will be the premiere of Viggo Mortensen as a director with his film Falling, which also stars. The film deals with the family drama experienced by a bitter father and his patient homosexual son.
Mortensen will also be awarded the Donostia Award.
The Official Selection is made up of 19 titles Among those that stand out summer 85, by the Frenchman François Son; Nakuko wa denies from the Japanese Takumata Soto; Wuhaiby the Chinese Zhou Ziyang and Supernova, by the British Harry Macqueen, among others.
El olvido que seremos, by Fernando Trueba will be the film in charge of closing the festival.
Akelarreby Argentine Pablo Agüero; We will never die, by Eduardo Crespo, also from Argentina, are some of the films that make up the Ibero-American offer of this sample.
The Horizontes Latinos Section will exhibit a selection of feature films of the year, unreleased in Spain, produced totally or partially in Latin America and directed by filmmakers of Latin origin.
The Perlas selection of outstanding feature films of the year, unpublished in Spain and which have been acclaimed by critics and / or awarded at other international festivals, also stands out.
