This year, the World Architecture Festival 2013, awarded the best landscape design. The winner was a botanical garden of Australia. Located on a farm in Cranbourne sand, on the outskirts of Melbourne, the Australian garden was designed by landscape design studio Taylor Cullity Lethlean and Paul Thompson plant expert. The design is inspired by the history of Australia. Here we find artificial lakes and about 170, 000 plants with 1700 different species. This garden won the competition because, according to the jury, it perfectly reflects the identity of Australia.
