TREY RATCLIFF: BURNING MAN 2014

Burning Man 2014 Fahrenheit 1

Burning Man Festival is an event held every year in the city of Nevada, USA, in an area known as Black Rock City, a temporary city that exists only during the seven days of the festival; once finished, it disappears. The main idea of the organizers of the Burning Man Festival is to bring together the creative community to encourage self-expression and self-sufficiency, as the event is governed by ten basic principles:

  • Inclusion
  • Don and Giving
  • Decommodification
  • Self-Reliance
  • Self-Expression
  • Communal Effort
  • Civic Responsibility
  • Participation
  • The urgent
  • Not leaving a trace

(Educational form adopted by the forest department of the United States in the seventies that urges people to participate in recreational activities by not littering).
