The Sketchbook Project is an artistic initiative developed by Sara and Steven Peterman in 2006, for the Brooklyn Art Library of New York, and is formed by around 30,000 notebooks (figure that grows each year), sent by people of different ages and cultural backgrounds, from more than 125 countries. The participant has to pay for a registration for this project, which works by massive financing, the payment will work to support the permanent exhibition and the annual tour in a mobile library, traversing the country from end to end, introducing the work of hundreds of people from around the world. In founder’s words. the Sketchbook Project is “as a music tour but with notebooks”. And last but not least, the notebooks that are part of this experimental project are available online in its digital library.
