The photographer Jan von Holleben born in Cologne, Germany in 1977. Usually spend his time between Berlin, London and Germany where he produces most of his photographs. The work of Jan von Holleben is based on the visual representation of childhood and play, inspired by classic children’s books and more contemporary superheroes. Holleben has great influence of his parents, one of them a child therapist and the other a filmmaker. The work of Jan von Holleben has been currently published in several magazines and books, exhibited in London, Paris, New York, Berlin. Among his series are Dreams of Flying, a work in progress that began in 2002 and I am the strongest where he shows great strength and homely touches Superhero generating very curious and humorous images. His books are Someone is no monster, Hohoho, Mutatis mutandis, Dreams of Flying II, 11-21, and Dreams of Flying I.
