Susanna Majuri is a photographer born in 1978, who currently lives and works in Helsinki. The central theme in her work conveys the message that it is okay to be fragile. Based on the shades that gives the water its color and guided by logic, Susanna Majuri creates harmonic scenes with places, people and objects. Her work is originated in landscape photographs from her travels, printed in large format and submerged in a pool with her models, mostly dancers, who are previously run by the artist with music, poetry or ideas that they should project under the water. With images full of possibilities and characters in the search for the encounter with themselves, the artist constantly projects her fears, insecurities, fragility, sadness and nostalgia, leaving space in the same way for the viewers to complete the story from their own context. Overall, the Majuri’s work shows a particular charm with his unconventional way of looking at reality, vulnerability and fragile emotions, taking us to places that few people have reached.
