The Guggenheim Helsinki Design Competition is an architectural competition to create the new museum in the Finnish capital. So far, the projects presented are spectacular, and one of them is City Star, by architects Lacoste+Stevenson. The winner will be announced in 2015.
City Star, as its name implies, is a star-shaped structure, which is inspired by snowflakes. It has distinct peaks pointing to the most emblematic buildings of the city. Downstairs, the museum is accessible from all sides. The first floor houses temporary works and offices; the second, a stage which includes a concert hall; the third, the main exhibition, which is divided into nine independent sections (the nine peaks); the fourth hosts the restaurants.
