If I write apple, what is the first thing you think? A fresh and delicious red fruit? The object that hit Newton’s head? Eva convincing Adam to eat from the knowledge’s tree of good and evil? Or just Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs? What if I write crayon? What comes to your mind? Probably the color pencil you used when you were a kid.
It is naturally occurring such kind of associations, but what about this? The following project, was made by the brand Bloomingdale for spring 2015 and consists in reinterpreting an object as simple and common as a crayon. Perhaps this is one of the greatest gifts of artists: offer a different worldview, ie transform our beliefs.
To make this outfit, Bloomingdale hired various fashion designers such as Nanette Lepore, Rebecca Taylor, Clover Canyon and Rebecca Minkoff, among others. Although each followed the idea of the brand, all brought their style and personality in their proposals. What do you think?
