The Londoner design studio Loop pH, has developed the project Sol Dome, a lights installations which was presented in Michigan. The half sphere placed on the street is composed by small circles of metal fiber, which are extended through the space. Of 8 x4 meters and 40 kg., this “solar dome” is lightened by circular LEDs. The portable structure is animated because it interacts according to the environment, very simmilar than a plant. The rythm of light changes due a sensor, the LEDS are activated when a fiber is placed as a circle and touch one point with the other, so the battery is charged, creating a controlled energetic structure.
