SHIRAZEH HOUSHIARY: EAST WINDOW

The universe is in a process of disintegration. Everything is in a state of erosion and still try to stabilize it. This tension fascinates me and is the core of my work. Houshiary

East Window is an abstract installation designed by Iranian artist Shirazeh Houshiary. This church is located in St. Martin in the Fields in Trafalgar Square, London. Complies with the reminiscences of a cross, and horizontal and vertical lines that move toward a central opening allowing light to pass through it. The concept of this web blend religious elements with a complex architecture. It forms a monochromatic piece which produces a unique  light experience. The window frame is made of stainless steel composite panels etched glass with Houshiary paintings. East West is a project focused on replacing a window shattered during the Second World War.
