In the small island of Fogo, a few kilometers of the coast of Canada coast, Saunders Architecture firm has designed a series of contemporary cottages for artist. The log cottages whitewashed have an almost triangular structure with sharp angles. The frame color is accentuated by the brown rocky ground and the blue sea. Because of this type of soil, the houses raise six meters through beams. One of the places, located along the coast is known as Squish Studio. This cottage has a small fireplace and a studio. The idea of this project is to create spaces that do not affect the environment, but being located in a natural place, work as inspiration for artist.
