Alfonsina Storni (b. May 22, 1892) is probably most famous for the way she died that because of her poetry. However, the literary work of the Argentina born in Switzerland set a precedent in the literary scene of Latin American modernism. Her female lines and force of every word written, made her a pioneer in the poetry of the 20th-Century in our continent. She died in 1938, by jumping from a cliff in Mar del Plata, although the romantic versions say she slowly walked into the sea. Some of her books are Languidness, Ochre and Mask and trefoil. You can read some of her poems in Ciudad Seva.
