Rafael de la Hoz is a Spanish architect who projected a structure that seems to meet the earth with Heaven. This monument of 60 meters high, seeks to represent the economic and technological development of Tianjin, China, which has the acronym TEDA. The sculpture would be located in the center of this region, and is intended to represent its 30 years of existence. This region is known to be one of the first to drive the industry, and to innovate both economically, and technologically. Five internationally recognized teams were invited to participate in the design along with Rafael de la Hoz. The central idea was the “Beautiful Pino”, the theme was selected because of the green surroundings. In its top, the sculpture has mirrors, which reflect light and create a kind of rainbow during the day. At night, the structure would also illuminate the space with the colors of the rainbow.
