Peter De Cupere created the installation PTDB-Tree Virus as part of the exhibition Exoten (Exotics) (2008). It is a plant with a particular fragrance, between mint and black pepper. The smell is so intense that visitors feel the need to mourn. PTDB is a big ball of mint, of 150 cm. From this structure arises a tree clinging to it, in a very peculiar way. The tree is enclosed in a white bubble, which makes it seem as if his appearance was the result of the deprivation of light and oxygen.
