Located in Victoria, Australia, the Prahran Hotel is the place to be if you are in that city. The firm Techne Architects was hired to redesign this hotel, which used to have an art deco style, however, the owners suggested demolishing part of the building, and replace the structure with something more dramatic and contemporary. The idea was to recycle concrete pipes, and with them create a space that would work as a restaurant bar. These pipes divide the space, making it more intimate and relaxed. Each pipe has a table and chairs for a group of people or for couples. The surrounding area of each space is covered with wood, which can be appreciated from the outside. The presence of black, white and yellow accents with green furniture and decorative details, purify the space. This simple idea completely changed the concept of that place.
