PEACE, CALM AND SUSTAINABILITY OF ATELIER ZÜNDEL CRISTEA

Currently the open-air museums are presented as an attractive and different cultural choice. When placed in a public space, plenty of people can interact with art regardless of age, race, creed or social status. Such is the case of Peace Pavilion in Bethnal Green Museum Garden in London.  AZC’s architectural project is a flexible PVC sculpture within air in four meters high. It serves as a recreational space, harmony and dynamism where children can play and assemble the structure, while the adults can sit and enjoy the place.

Besides being visually striking, the strength of this project lies in its concept. This project is dedicated to the people of the nations of North and South Sudan in order to find calm, reconciliation and peace through ecological and sustainable architecture.

With Peace Pavilion, the French firm Atelier Zündel Cristea won the architectural competition and designed Triumph Pavilion 2013.
