Passing Cloud is a project that took part in the international competition “Life at the Speed of Rail”, organized by Van Alen Institute and funded by the Department of Cultural Affairs for the city of New York. The architect Tiago Barros proposed this design as a transport system for the Big Apple and even impressed the judges for its originality, did not win the competition. The inflatable is an architectural proposal of transport. Air currents determine the path and speed of the inflatable, which moves from place to place without a destination. Passengers board the cloud via stairs and sit on the surface. What was searching by the creator is that this transport makes people contemplate from above the city, as well, to be among the clouds, people could relax.
