Besides of being a classic of road movies Paris, Texas (1984), is also one of the greatest love stories that have been told on the big screen and it is, perhaps, the masterpiece of German director Wim Wenders. Paris, Texas tells the story of Travis, a man with amnesia that appears near the border with Mexico, after four years of absence. After being rescued by his brother, Travis gradually reveals the tragic and mysterious love story that led him to that state of mind, close to madness. Travis gets his son, and together they decide to go for Jane, the woman who had to leave behind years earlier, and whom he has not been heard from since.
The protagonists of this film are Harry Dean Stanton, Natasha Kinsky, Hunter Carson and Dean Stockwell. The script was written by playwright and screenwriter Sam Shepard, and the film won numerous awards, including the Palme d’Or and the Oscar.
