The artist Robert Feld has realized that museum visitors rather than seeking a contemplative an artistic experience, prefer to keep track of their step there. So, they use their Smartphone or Tablet, and capture an image of the painting or installation that is in front of them. To convert this action into an interactive experience, Feld made replicas of Mondrian’s paintings but with the colors reversed, so that they can only see the true colors when placing the Smartphone camera function in negative. So, viewing the paintings through the device display becomes fun and necessary to complete the visit to the museum or gallery. These works are gathered in the exhibition Mondrian Inverted: The Viewer Is Not Present.
