MAPA is the result of merging two architectural firms from Uruguay and Brazil. They have collaborated since 2008 as independent studios based in Montevideo, Uruguay and Porto Alegre, Brazil. In 2013 they began the project Minimod, a small sustainable house 26 m2 which is divided into 4 spaces: bedroom, living room, dining room and bathroom, which can be connected or closed. The interior is lined with pine and large windows. The Minimod filters and recycles rainwater through the green cover and illuminated by LED lights. This project has been selected as one of those which will represent Brazil in the Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism, in Rosario, Argentina.
