The Medical Library of Heinrich Heine University and University Clinic of Dusseldorf in Germany is a project to reorganize the vitality of the campus. The designers of this innovative building are the architecture practice HPP. The name Oasis evokes a feeling of nostalgia and an ingenious play on words. This is a place of exchange of teaching, learning and development. In German, the initial types of this concepts form the word OASE – OASIS. This library has 28 meters height and its smooth facade reflects the ideals of the campus. It resembles a capillary system as a symbol of information flow. This idea not only manifests the exterior facade, but it reflects in a dynamic internal way. It has different areas with spaces dedicated to reading, offices, conferences rooms and a café.
