The green modules created by the Canadian artist Matthew Soules, are extended over a surreal dome, suspended above the visitors of the Harmony Arts Festival in Vancouver. The installation Vermilion Sands, consists of 260 hand-made modules. Each was made of wire covered by a geotextile and sprinkled with seeds of perennial grass cultivated for one month before presentation. The dome is mounted with an irrigation system that keeps moisture and creates a mist. At night, LED lights illuminate it, playing with the natural and the artificial.
