Half the Air in a Given Space is an installation by British artist Martin Creed, which consists in a room full of balloons. In Chicago, Creed filled half of a room with balloons, making tangible something that would usually be invisible: the air around us. The artist has installed four versions of this work in different areas of the city with several colors of balloons, like blue, purple and pink. Half the Air in a Given Space was installed in Hyde Park Art Center, Garfield Park Conservatory, Storefront, Bryn Mawr in Edgewater and City Gallery in the Historic Water Tower.
