Finalist of the H&M Design Awards in 2013, the Maia Bergman is a young Argentinean designer who currently lives in London. She joined the famed Central Saint Martins School, where she studied fashion design. In her designs, Bergman combines soft pastels and metallic colors with plastic balls of different colors, giving the garment a three-dimensional feel. It is a feminine style with a grunge touch, as Bergman explained to H&M. As she says, she was inspired by the style of Stephen Sprouse, revolutionary designer known for his wild prints, and the very well known artist Cher. Bergman believes that fashion means to look pretty, and this is what she wants to achieve with her designs.
