The Lone Bellow is a band that started with a peculiar history. The wife of Zach Williams, the founder, fell from a horse and suffered temporary paralysis. During her recovery time, Zach opened a blog in which he wrote texts which chronicled the experience. His friends advised him to put music to texts and turn them into songs. When his wife, Kanene Donehey recovered, they moved to New York, where they started their own band. The music of The Lone Bellow appeals to the effective and melodic simplicity and profound lyrics arising from personal tragedy. Their songs, mostly orchestrated with acoustic instruments blend folk, country and indie rhythms in a harmonious blend that refers to the privacy of the common stories, of the small epics that all lives are made.
