LER DEVAGAR: SLOWLY READING IN LISBON

The bookshop Ler Devagar in Lisbon was built in 2009 by Aurora Architects. Ler Devagar means “read slowly”, and is a great creative space of one thousand square meters in the market where literature comes alive. One of the greatest attractions housed in the library, is a white bicycle and other very bright objects hanging from the ceiling that seems to get every reader with a touch of joy and cheerfulness. It also has bookshelves hanged to the ceiling, and a high quality coffee. Sérgio Antunes, Irene Bonacchi, Ana Brütt, Rita Ferreira, Sofia Reis Couto, Horácio Guedes, Kirill De Lancastre Jedenov, Manuel Ribeiro and Filipe Moreira are the team of architects who made this project possible.
