Leandro Erlich is an Argentinian artist who, through drills fragments of everyday spaces, subjects the viewer to paradoxical situations where reality and virtuality merge, inciting, through these optical illusions, contradictory perceptions, understandings and poetic subtle sensations. Each of his installations invites us to own a small area, as measured by the remoteness and distance to realize that reality is different than anything. Leandro alters strategies using simulation, optical illusion, illusions, props or resources used in magic to cause us estrangement, to make us reflect on how fragile are the first impressions and certainties.
Leandro Erlich studied at the School of Fine Arts Prilidiano Pueyrredón in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has exhibited at the Havana Biennale and the Venice Biennale in Benzacar Gallery in Buenos Aires and in the White Box Gallery in New York.
