Jasmine Berakha lives and works in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her technical work focuses on embroidery and manipulation of textiles and patterns to create images. Her pieces have been exhibited in cities like Buenos Aires, New York, Paris and Berlin, among others.
The French sportswear brand founded in 1882, Le Coq Sportif, collaborated with Berakha to create its collection Spring-Summer 2015. For this special occasion, Le Coq Sportif chose Eclat and LCS R1000 models, made in 1991 and considered emblematic of the brand. Both shoes are manufactured in fiberglass, a material that is perfect for the artist to make her embroidery proposal.
Berakha’s graphical inspiration was reflected in a colorful and sophisticated way, with contrasts of light and dark colors which not only add elegance, but maintain the active spirit of sports shoes. Both Eclat and the KCS R1000 are unisex models, and are on sale in exclusive shops and on show in some galleries in France.
