Creating poetic visions of Paris, the photographer Laurent Chehere, born in 1972, has an interesting series of airborne buildings. This project, consisting of a collection of slums facades of Paris, rescues the hidden beauty of these buildings, all photographed under the same lighting to be subsequently manipulated in Photoshop, and which highlight elements that pay tribute to films like La Strada by Federico Fellini and Howl’s Moving Castle by Hayao Miyazaki. Together, Flying Houses is a series that fuses reality, metaphor and symbols to tell a story, leaving room for viewer subjectivity, to build his own version.
