KERRY MILLER: THE ART OF THE BOOK

As technology advances, it seems that book would disappear and would be substituted by computers. Printed media have strived in reducing the number of words and in increasing the amount of images. It is how emerged the idea of English artist Kerry Miller, who has eliminated the text in books, to substitute that space with watercolors and color-inked images. They are 3D images, so they seem to jump out of the book to surprise the readers. The artist’s proposal consist in reusing, reinventing the books instead of junking them. Actually, Miller found in the junk a 1868 book , which was illegible, so she decided to “re-imagine” it.
