Jamie Nelson is a photographer who was born in a small town in Texas. After attending Brooks Institute of Photography in California, she traveled to New York to settle. She has worked with various international publications such as Vogue, Allure, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Lula and Vanity Fair, and has participated in campaigns for Maybelline, Make Up For Ever and Forever 21.
This photo series is called Tanning Salon. Nelson is famous for the use of fluorescent paint worn by models in their hair, nails and eyebrows, and the neon lights which together offer an electrifying and energetic photoshoot, which is reinforced by the scenic darkness.
Some of her customers are Danai Gurira, Leslie Bibb and Solange Knowles. The artist also collaborated in the creation of the album of Lily Allen Sheezus. Finally, her work has been published in Los Angeles, London, Paris, Germany and Dubai.
