The cultural promoter and inhabitant of the Yucatan island of Holbox, Daniel Trigo, created Soñando por Holbox in 2013, a project that gave rise to three art festivals. This year, Daniel convenes for the second time the artist Ruben Carrasco, member of the group 5 Wolves No Pigs, composed of international artists with a presence in Canada, South Africa and Mexico, to organize the 8th edition of the IPAF (International Public Art Festival), that will be held from April 13 to 19 in that island.
The main aim of the festival is to promote cultural and artistic exchange between the community and artists, as part of their creative process, which will be recorded on video and photographed with the intention of documenting the development of the event and share the experiences. It also seeks to make a positive economic and environmental impact on the population of Holbox, through Zero Waste (minimizing footprint), and testimony visual query to promote tourism. For this edition, were summoned some of the most creative minds in Mexico and Latin America, in different disciplines such as murals, short films, installation and interactive art.
