The Dutch photographers, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, better known in photography world as Inez & Vinoodh, present by the first time, their work at Gagosian Gallery Paris as part of a show that will be opened until March 9. The exhibition focuses the exploration of the broad portfolios by this duo who during more than twenty-five years have dedicated to explore the potential of digital manipulation in order to portrait human condition. During their professional story, Inez & Vinoodh, have created a self aesthetic characterized by the combination of beauty and bizarre, elegance with extreme, classic and ironic, provocative of human identity. Since their beginnings during the early 1990s, they have reached different genres, from nude and portrait, to still-life, creating images that fusion the creative values of art and fashion with a touch of pop culture, which experiment with assemblage, and draw a symbolic map of contemporary beauty.

Besides of analyzing technique and aesthetic which defines their work, Gagosian invites to know their passion by flowers and by the work of great masters of photography like Robert Mapplethorpe, Irving Penn and Nobuyushi Araki, who have represented a strong influence to their work. For this exhibition there are presented works in different formats: photography, video and installation, created for diverse publications like “Vogue”, and brands such as Nina Ricci, YSL, Gucci, Balmain, Dior and Bvlgari, among others. The audience could also enjoy portraits of celebrities from fashion, cinema and music worlds, like Björk, Kate Moss, Lady Gaga, James Franco and Drew Barrymore, to mention a few.
