La fachada sur está revestida con 650 paneles solares que captan la luz solar, propiciando el 75% de la energía que la escuela necesita.

Brooks +  Scarpa Architects, designed the Green Dot Animo Leadership High School. A public school for 500 students, which is located in one of the hardest quarters of South LA, California, under the flight path in LAX and beside the Century highway. Its design adapts to the Southern weather without the necessity to use air-conditioning. The South facade is also covered with 650 solar panels which get the sunlight, originating the 75% of the energy needed by the school. The implementation of these strategies allow to reduce carbon emissions. The design was influenced by New Orleans architects, Curtis and Davis, who design and built many schools in Louisiana during the 1950s.
