The American artist Jeff Koons is known for his figurative sculptures highly influenced by pop culture and art history, but with different results very marked. His sculptures known as “Balloon Animals” are forms made of stainless steel brittle covered with transparent paint. Currently shown at Gagosian Gallery three sculptures Bright series “Baloon Animals” ranging from 3 to 4 feet high: a swan blue, red overalls and yellow rabbit, as well as a brilliant sculpture of a semi-abstract inspired by the Venus of Willendorf under the same concept of globe. In the collection “The Antiquity Paintings” represented by complex layers of images, references and shades of color their art historical exploration in painting and sculpture, translating into the center of each scene meticulously crafted a classic sculpture oil.
The exhibition is currently and will be available until June 29 at the Gagosian Gallery in New York.
