From the director of While We’re Young, Noah Baumbach, we present Frances Ha (2003), a comedy, to call in some way, co-written and starring by Greta Gerwig. The film tells the story of Frances, a New Yorker woman about her 30’s is between moving and the problems at work as an apprentice of dancer. Realizing that her future in the world of dance is uncertain, Frances begins a complicated interior journey toward finding her true dreams and how to achieve them.
The film is shot in black and white, because the director wanted to eliminate any graphical information to divert the viewer from the real problems of history, and provide a feeling of instant nostalgia, to the point of questioning about our aspirations in life.
