With just 25 years, Sonia Szóstak is a renowned name in the fashion world and breaks through different disciplines to new latitudes. In early 2015, Szóstak presented a solo exhibition entitled Longboards, tattoos and a trip to Mars, in the shop of art and design NO WÓDKA Berlin. The 19 photographs were taken up during the last four years and address portraits and nudes that offer a different visual narrative. The scenes captured by Szóstak go from the natural to the perfection of the pose, demonstrating the art of the photographer in the editorial work while achieving in each image more than simply capturing a moment. For some critics, her images reflect the spirit of her generation while marking a landmark towards the classic portrait.
For 2013, Sonia had been honored with an invitation to the exhibition of Vogue Italy titled A look at the pictures of Vogue that was held at the Gallery Carla Sozzani in Corso Como, Milan. Szóstak’s work has been exhibited in solo shows and exhibitions within the framework of Fashion Week Poland and Arts Festival. Recently, this twenty-something with a bright future has been dedicated to make videos for musicians and fashion designers, plus brands and publishers such as Rolling Stone, OZON MAGAZINE, C-Heads Magazine, K MAG, Vain Magazine 10 Magazine, MISBHV, Catz’n’Dogz, MOA Design, Levi’s and many others.
Sonia Szóstak studied photography at the National School of Theater, Film and Television Leon Schiller, in her native Poland. Over the past ten years she has collaborated in magazines, with designers, musicians and actors, testing and polishing her style in different media. By 2011 she had won the title of “best newcomer” of the prestigious fashion magazine Le Libro for having produced the best covers of 2010.
