Ellie Davies has spent the last seven years transforming UK’s forests, in captivating and mysterious artworks. Her installations are a true exploration of our relationship with the landscape around us.
Davies has used nature as a resource to convert forests into endless canvas. After all this time, the artist has managed to create beautiful images that combine art and photography.
Davies has intervened the natural landscape drawing paths on dry leaves, painting trees, drawing clouds and building organic forms.
Davies describes her work as follows: “The forest becomes a studio, forming a backdrop to contextualize the work, so that each piece draws on its location, a golden tree introduced into a thicket shimmers in the darkness, painted paths snake through the undergrowth, and strands of wool are woven between trees mirroring colours and formal elements within the space”.
