The Cuckoo’s Calling of Robert Galbraith, aka J.K. Rowling shows us a completely different side of this author, a 360 degrees in which transports us to a world of mysteries and unsolved cases, far from the magical world of Harry Potter. Cormoran Strike, a former soldier in Afghanistan who becomes a private detective, is hired by John Bristow to investigate the alleged suicide of his sister, a famous supermodel named Lula. J.K. Rowling decided to publish her latest work, a detective novel, under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith,  to prove herself in a new market, to see how people receive a new story without the stigma of being J.K. Rowling and as a liberating experience for her, writing without pressure. The book garnered rave reviews from the beginning, when it was still a secret the true origin of the author, and began to climb the charts of the best books sold on its own merit. This book is proof that Rowling is a great writer for adults too, to build a compelling story about crime, mystery and suspense. Royalties from the book will be donated to The Soldiers’ Charity , which also supported Rowling to be researching for the book.
