After receiving a “prize” by mail, Woody Grant, an old man with symptoms of senile dementia, believes that he has become rich and forces his suspicious son David on a journey to go to collect it. Gradually, their relationship, broken for several years by continuing ethyl ravings of Woody, take a different path to the surprise of the mother, and the successful brother of David.
The visual style of the film has a correspondence with the story, the director Alexander Payne insisted in shooting it in black and white, thus creating an air of austerity, to restore the vintage feel of the classic films. A film with an exotic and different visual stimulus, which portrays cold and expressionless humor about family relationships, trust and affection.
This is the main plot of Nebraska, which was nominated for Best Film at the last Academy Awards.
