FAHRENHEITº RECOMMENDS: AVANT-GARD IN MEXICO (1915-1940) IN THE MUNAL

Result of an academic collaboration with the Graduate Art History at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM), “Avant-Gard in Mexico: 1915-1940” is an exhibition that aims to stake out a part of the story of Mexican art the decades that comprise the show. There are presented works by David Alfaro Siqueiros, Diego Rivera, Gerardo Murillo “Dr. Atl”, Jorge González Camarena and Ramón Alva de la Canal, among other artists. It presents examples of painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, film fragments and hemerography copies of visual and literary proposals that were developed in parallel with the post-revolutionary muralism hegemonic discourse. The show consists of more than 100 works, which identify the diversity of artistic experimentation, formal and thematic, of that period, made ​​by artists who recorded in different ways paradigms and the momentum of the revolution made ​​official.
