Erik Madigan Heck is an artist and photographer born in Exelsior, Minnesota. He began his career at 14 years when he received a camera as a birthday gift. In 2002 he won his first award as a photographer, he later graduated from Parsons the New School for Design. In 2007 he founded the publication “Nomenus Quarterly” as a way to make room for new creative proposals from New York City. Madigan’s work is characterized by being almost painterly, he defines himself as a painter doing photography. The nature and the ideal of beauty are the main elements of his work, creating a sort of contemporary extension of romanticism.
